For the base map material we use OpenStreetMaps licensed under the Open Database License.
Relief data
Our relief data is based on the 3DEP, GMTED2010 and SRTM data, which fall under the “Public Domain”. The following additional data sources were used to provide terrain/relief, each with the associated copyrights:

Scope of use and options
Digital use
You can use the map material extensively for your digital projects:
- Company websites
- Digital marketing and social media
- Digital presentations
- Internal documentation
- Other digital media
Print use
You can use the map material for print products without circulation limits, including:
- Printed matter and advertising media
- Trade fair presentations
- Product packaging
- Business stationery

Subscription model and managed maps
Subscription plans
- Each subscription plan allows for a specific number of managed maps
- A managed map provides unlimited downloads in any format (PNG, JPEG, WebP) and size
- Previously downloaded versions can be retrieved at any time from the dashboard under "Downloads"
Pay-by-Download
We do offer a pay-by-download option for our map material. This means that you can purchase individual downloads without a subscription (only when no subscription is active) to get a lifetime license for the map material.
License conditions
- Your license remains active as long as your subscription is maintained (does not apply to pay-by-download)
- For permanent ownership after cancellation, you can purchase a one-time license (does not apply to pay-by-download)
- Free tier / no active users are not permitted commercial use of map materials
- Paid plans include commercial usage rights with no time limitations
License protection and legal aspects
License term
- No time limitation for active subscribers
- When canceling your subscription or deleting a map, you can purchase a permanent license for a one-time fee
- Software use is tied to an active subscription
For pay-by-download licenses, there is no time limit.
Legal protection
- The map material and the software are protected by copyright
- All rights remain with mapstudio.ai
- Copyright notices must remain unchanged
The following are not permitted
- Passing on or selling the software
- Sublicensing of the map material
- Modification of the software
- Reverse engineering
- Use outside the specified types of use
License monitoring and violations
We actively monitor compliance with our license conditions and reserve the right to
- Legally prosecute license violations
- Revoke the license in the event of violations
- Request proof of use and specimen copies
